Alberto Núñez Feijóo, president of the PP, has won the general elections of 23J, but without achieving the majority he was looking for and he barely has any chance of governing in the face of Vox's setback. For its part, the PSOE has resisted and has even improved the results it obtained four years ago. Pedro Sánchez could govern again with the support of Sumar and other parties such as ERC, BNG, PNV O Bildu. But the PP claims its right to form a Government.
Specifically, the PP has achieved 136 seats, 47% more than four years ago, but insufficient to govern. The PSOE has obtained 122 seats, 2% more than in the last elections. The PP cannot govern with the sole support of Vox because this party has obtained 33 deputies, 19% less than four years ago. And the PSOE cannot govern alone with SUMAR, which has won 31 seats. Both parties need to negotiate with other parties.
We review the housing measures of the two major political parties in this country. While the PP's commitment is to approve a State Pact on Housing to build apartments at an affordable price and tackle the problem of occupancy at its roots, the PSOE proposes increasing the stock of affordable rental housing.
